Did you study another language in high school? Another language for college? Do you have basic vocabulary in another language? It’s time to start using that language with your child! The internal process that unfolds as an individual learns, or acquires a language is essentially the same, for all languages and at all ages. When multiple languages are introduced early in life, children are able to adapt and understand messages in multiple languages. Infants and toddlers have the unique advantage of not having the negative self-talk or concerns about what others think. These things can make it more challenging for us to learn another language as adults, but make it easier for children.

Pasitos School

Pasitos is an eco-friendly, bilingual community based on learning and fun. Through a play based Reggio inspired curriculum, children gain the necessary literacy skills to make them successful in both Spanish and English. At the same time, they build social and emotional skills in working with peers and the maestras. Together these skills help open their minds and language capabilities. Teachers interact with the children to build strong academics and positive social skills.
