FAQs
Is 30 minutes a week enough for my child to learn Spanish?
While 30-60 minutes a week, through a virtual classroom is not ideal, research has proved that children and adults who study another language begin to experience some of the benefits that are later positively associated with bilingualism, such as improved executive functioning. (Poarch & van Hell, 2012). So, yes! 30-60 minutes a week of Spanish immersion can help your child to practice Spanish, learn new Spanish, while also building age-appropriate content and skills.
Of course, the more language opportunities you can provide for your child, the better. Joining a movement class or a Immersion experiences are the best language learning opportunities,

How is this safe?
We only share class information with families who are already part of our community (so we know who you are). For families new to our community, we require a parent/guardian and the child to participate in a quick get to know you conversation before allowing you to join our class.
My preschooler isn't interested in sitting and watching class on the computer. Is it even reasonable to have preschoolers on the computer for 30 minute classes?
Every child is different and it's okay if your child doesn't want to sit and watch. Have the class on in the background, maybe while also offering blocks, puzzles, or other manipulatives. Children can listen and play. Your child may even surprise you and tell you something we talk about even though you don't think your child is paying attention. Here are some tips and advice when getting in on a Zoom call with your preschooler
I'm interested in enrolling my child, but it's the middle or end of the month. How would billing work? What if we get sick or don't participate?
We prorate the month you start so you only pay for the weeks for which you receive class codes. We are unable to offer make-ups classes at this time if you are sick or miss a class for any reason. We follow the preschool calendar. The first class is on us! Click here to sign up for a free trial class.

- Invite your child to sit, watch, and participate.
- It’s okay if your child gets up and walks away. Leave the video on. Your child may watch or listen from off camera or from the other room. Remember, children usually aren’t able to talk about their feelings of stress or trauma. Having their lives and routines changed have impacted them. It can be confusing to see friends and maestras only on the screen now.
- Keep the video on. You child may wander in and out of participating. You may think your child is completely uninterested yet will begin singing one of the songs we practice on video.
- Show your child where the “mute” and “unmute” and talk about how it works.
Show your child where the microphone is and help your child to talk near the microphone, when possible. - Siblings, pets, and other family members are welcome to join the fun.
- It’s okay to stay near or with your child and participate, too! Get silly with us, help to narrate what you see the other children are doing or what you can see in our windows.
- Most zoom classes will start in English and then transition to Spanish!
