Weekly tuition includes: 100% organic snacks, materials,  minimum two field trips transportation and fees.

Dates and Themes for Camp at Pasitos Central 2013

Week 1

Dates: 6/17-6/21

Theme: Sea World/ El Mundo Acuático

Description: Explore the mysteries of the sea! This week campers will learn about one of nature’s wonders, the Sea World! We will explore the oceans, their animals, and plants that live in the sea. Creating our own sea world, making sandcastles, and taking a trip to the Academy of Sciences will give your child a sense of wonder about sea life.

Possible Field Trip: Academy of Sciences and Alviso Wildlife Refuge

Week 2

Dates: 6/24-6/28

Theme: Eating it up!/ ¡A Comer!

Description: Work with your friends cooking different snacks to create your own healthy and delicious snack and lunch every day. Visit two different restaurants to see how their kitchens are alike and different. Learn about different kitchen instruments and how they can be used in some of our favorite meals.

Possible Field Trips: Vito’s Tratorria and San Pedro Farmer’s Market

Week 3

Dates: 7/1-7/5 (no camp on Thursday, July 4)

Theme: College Bound/ ¡Excursión de Universidades!

Description: Put on your walking shoes as we visit a different college every day. Learn each school’s colors, mascot and their specialty. Brainstorm with your friends about what it means to be a good student so that you will succeed in college. Our visits will include San José State University, UC Berkeley and Santa Clara University. You can enroll for 4 days, 3 days, or 1 day!

Field Trips: San Jose State University, UC Berkeley, and Santa Clara University

Cost: 4 days- $247; 3 days- $186, 1 day- $69

Week 4

Dates: 7/8-7/12

Theme: Design you Own.../ Diseña tu propio...

Description: This camp is for the designer and creator in all children. Starting with a field trip to Build-A-Bear, we then open up the creativity to design for you and your bear your very own bracelet, blanket, doll/puppet, clothes, finger knitting, silk scarf, bag, magnet, and/or t-shirt. Join us this week to design your own... with the different textiles and materials to choose from. We will visit the Quilts and Textile Museum as well!

Possible Field Trips: Quilts and Textile Museum and Build a Bear


Week 5

Dates: 7/15-7/19

Theme: Spinning your Wheels/ Las Ruedas de Movimiento

Description: Turn on your gears and let’s go for a ride! Bring your own wheels (and helmet!) to ride at camp! We will also have a “wheel show” to share your favorite ride with camper friends! This week we will learn some physics, design with wheels, and visit the  Roller Rink and race at K1 Speed (minimum 48” to drive a go kart).

Week 6

Dates: 7/22-7/26 

Theme: Exploring San Jose, History and Culture/ Explorando San Jose, Historia y Cultura

Description: Start each day by leaving Pasitos and heading out for a different part of San José. Learn important facts about the history of San José which has helped it to make it the amazing city that it is today. Visit places including the San Pedro Farmer’s Market (each child will receive money to purchase something!), Japan Town, Little Saigon, San José History Park, and the Peralta Adobe.  Walk through the many parts of downtown and see what makes Silicon Valley so special!

Week 7

Dates: 7/29-8/2

Theme: Party!/ ¡Fiesta!

Description: Celebrate the end of summer vacation with a visit to Golfland and and a piñata store.  Visit a create specialty store that creates piñatas and then create a piñata with a group of your friends.  Prepare decorations and the environment for an end of week party.

New for Summer 2013!

Enroll your preschooler to attend preschool for the same week, as your older child Monday-Friday 9-3, for only $330 for the week.

Extended care 7:30-6, $15/day or $65 for the week

Your camper will receive a 10% sibling discount on each week of camp when both children attend.

Sample Daily Schedule:

9:00-9:45      Check in, vocabulary games, group time/discussion

9:45-11:00    Theme based project work, snack available 

11:00-12:00  Outdoor exploration

12:00-1:00     Lunch, field, outdoor time

1:00-1:15       DEAR Time (Drop Everything And Read)

1:15-1:45       Group Time, singing, dancing, role playing 

1:45-2:45       Theme based project work

2:45-3:00       Journaling, reflection and clean up
