Positive Discipline at Pasitos
We are proud to offer Positive Discipline classes for parents and caregivers. Classes are fun, interactive, and held at a Pasitos school site. Many families have made this a date night by calling a babysitter, going to dinner and then Positive Discipline class. It has been reported that participating in the class with your parenting partner can help improve your personal relationship with that person.
We believe in the saying that it take a village to raise a child. We believe it also takes a village to support a family. We are ecstatic to be a part of your village.
Trainings are offered at Pasitos several times a year. Participation in a Positive Discipline class is required for all Pasitos families and can be retaken as often as desired. All Pasitos families who have paid the Positive Discipline fees are invited to attend all Positive Discipline classes for no additional fee.
Registration fees for participation in the Positive Discipline class are included when enrolling your child at Pasitos and is only ever billed once per family.
Why do we want you to take this class?
We practice Positive Discipline at Pasitos. We believe that a positive discipline approach to working with children is a lifestyle, it’s a part of who we are as individuals and helps us determine how to best respond to children with love. Kind and firm is the approach we take in guiding children to make better or more appropriate decisions about how they interact with us, how they interact with other children, and how the interact with the world. The Positive Discipline approach is an integrative part of our lifestyle.
As a practitioners of Positive Discipline, we know there are numerous benefits to children of all ages. While many benefits may not be readily visible in early childhood, they tend to be more visible as children continue to grow. Children raised in a Positive Discipline environment are self-reliant, are able to make positive decisions, and in general tend toward more independence, especially in the teenage years.
When children feel a sense of belonging and significance, when they experience consistency in guidance and discipline, this helps to build intrinsic motivation which leads to success in school and life.
We believe that Positive Discipline works for all children and for all types of children. When Positive Discipline is practiced at home, a foundation is built on having a positive relationship with your child. When relationships are based on respect, the relationship and the child will be more positive. This leads to lovely teenage years, as opposed to combative teenage years. Many adults can be hesitant and even fearful of teenagers and young adults. By creating a lifestyle that is based on positivity and respect, adolescence becomes just another phase of life. We have seen the benefits in teenagers that have been raised with this philosophy.
In our learnings and observations of working with hundreds of families over many years, we know that by creating a positive guidance and discipline foundation in the early years of your child’s life will save parents time, stress, and chaos later in life. Taking the time for training, for a Positive Discipline class now, will save you time later and will pay off for the rest of your parenting life.
This also creates a sense of consistency for your child. All adults that regularly engage with your child share similar guidance techniques and strategies. Your child will regularly engage in preferred behavior and will be able to self-regulate.
